The Library will be closed tomorrow (Friday, October 14)

 A career fair is being held this Thursday, August 25 from 10 am - 1 pm at the Rasmussen College Land O’ Lakes campus. They are located on SR 54 at the intersection of Sunlake Blvd which is east of the Suncoast Parkway. The actual address is 18600 Fernview Street Land O’ Lakes, FL 34638.

It's easy! You can read 6 books this summer and get weekly prizes. Just register at any of the Pasco County Library branches, or online at http://www.pascolibraries.org/ starting May 24th. Then start reading your books. As you finish them, tell us a little about each book (online, or in person). All 6 books need to be read and 'reviewed' by July 23 at 4 PM. You can always read more than 6 books! All kids and teens who finish will be invited to a special party!

 This two-hour seminar is designed for persons planning to start a business, or who have recently started a small business, but who have not yet set up an effective record keeping system.  The seminar is a basic hands-on introduction to QuickBooks, the popular automated business record keeping system. Note that this is an introduction to QuickBooks, i.e., not designed for the experienced QuickBooks user.

• Setting up Checking & Other Accounts
• Choosing a Chart of Accounts
• Opening Entries for a Business
• Entering Deposits & Writing Checks
• Entering Vendors
• Setting Up Items & Creating an Invoice

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) helps the library determine all the great programs it should put on for the 11-18 crowd. TAB members earn community service hours just by attending meetings and offering their thoughts and opinions. Plus, members get to be the first to know about all the other volunteer opportunities available in the library. The Friends of the Library provide free snacks and drinks, so come hungry and be ready to have your voice heard! We usually have fun activities following the meetings (like art contests, talent shows, gaming nights etc.). TAB is for grades 6 - 12.

Gwen O'Leary will be speaking about her experience 

caring for her mother with Alzheimer's. She wrote a 

book about her experiences and will discuss the 

book and have a Q & A session.

Valentines Day comes in February and our favorite part of Valentines Day is the chocolate. So let's skip to the fun part. What could be better than a chocolate fountain? We will be be having a Chocolate Extravaganza following the Teen Advisory Meeting on Thursday Feb 17th at 6:30pm.

The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas will be holding a free 

Senior Safety Seminar on Thursday, February 10th from 1:00pm 

to 3:00pm.  This program will tell you how to avoid scams and 

fraud.  Also, free safety phones will be available. 

           The presenters will be:

• Captain R. McKinney - Zephyrhills City Police Department
• Kathy Cornwell - Area Agency on Aging Victim Advocate
• Little Horatio - Pasco County's four legged victim advocate

Looking for a job? Need help with getting a resume done, or finding that
job application? Take advantage of the Career Central Mobile One-Stop
Unit, which will be parked in the New River parking lot on Wednesday, January 5th from 9:30am - 3:00pm. This bus comes the first Wednesday of every month.  They have computers, printers, fax machines, and job-hunting and interviewing tips, all free!
