Teen Gaming Club - Saturday, October 3rd, at 2pm




We love games at New River Library, so we host a Gaming Club that meets the first Saturday of each month. This week we will be having a Chess Tournament, complete with prizes for the winners.
Other games you can play include:
        *  board games - from "Apples to Apples" to Pictionary to "Settlers of Catan"
        *  role-playing games: Star Wars, World of Warcraft, etc.
        *  card games
        *  video games: rockband 2, Wii sports resort, DDR, etc.
    Come join us for games and refreshments this Saturday at 2:00pm.

    Want to learn about what it was like to be a kid during the Great Depression? Come join us on Thursday, October 22nd, at 6:45pm. We will be discussing "Kit's Tree House" by Valerie Tripp and doing a craft project that relates to the book.

    Like vampires? Journey into the world of real vampires as we explore Transylvania through digital pictures and food on Thursday, October 22nd, at 6:30pm.  Find out about the real Vlad Dracula and how he inspired so many of the modern vampire stories, from Bram Stoker's Dracula to Twilight.

    Tuesday, Oct.13th, at 2:00pm - We Can Help You Make Home Ownership a Reality!



    Are you interested in finding out about the $19.5 million in federal grant money set aside to help people with home ownership? Well, here's a program that can answer your questions. PCLS's EGOV program is sponsoring "Making Home Ownership a Reality." Peggy Schott from Pasco County Community Development will provide information on how you can benefit from the housing grant money in Pasco County. The program will be held on Tuesday, October 13th, at 2:00pm.

     Teen Creativity - We have it at New River Library!


    Our teens designed and painted this guitar last summer to support the "Battle of the Bands" project.



    Our next project is decorating two new wooden chairs for the teen area. Come join us on Thursday, October 8th, at 6:30pm as we pick a theme and decorate the chairs.

    Are you tired of Rock Band 1? Want to try your skills at new songs? We will be hosting a teen Rock Band 2 tournament this Saturday (September 19th) at 2pm. Prizes will be given to the winners and refreshments will be served.
