Ahoy, Matey!

Dress as a pirate and remember to say "Arrr!" at the Teen Pirate Dance. This is our kick-off program for the Summer Reading Program - "Make Waves @ Your Library". The dance will be held Saturday, June 5th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. You can learn pirate speak here

Thursday, June 3rd at 6:30pm - Tampa Taiko Drum Presentation

Ron Collins of Tampa Taiko will be describing the history and culture of Japanese Taiko Drumming and will give a demonstration of Taiko Drumming. The program will be interactive, with audience participation. Come join us for a fun and informative program!

Business Growth Conference

The Small Business Development Center of the USF College of Business will be providing a free one day business conference at Land O'Lakes library on May 26th from 8:00am to 5:00pm. This conference will include the following topics:

  • Marketing for growth (planning strategies for expanding your business)
  • Financing growth
  • Growing globally
  • State of Florida Certifications (for women, minority, and service disabled veteran)
  • Growth via internet marketing

This month's book was chosen by one of our club members. The book is "The King of the Golden River" by John Ruskin. This fable about brothers on a farm was written in 1889. The town of Ruskin (in Hillsborough County) was named in honor of the author of this book.
